Appointment booking
The partners have made the decision that from Monday 9th October, all GP appointments whether routine or acute must be booked by telephoning the surgery and not coming to the surgery to book. This is to make it fair to everyone.
Many thanks

Flu Season
Flu Season is upon us, please be on the look out for a text message inviting you to our clinics.
This year you shall receive a text message with a link, giving you the ability to book directly into our available clinics. The link is valid for 7 days, from when you receive the text message.
You are able to call us, if you are unable to use the link. We have chosen this route this year, to try and keep phone lines clear.
Many thanks

Dr Nicholas Peat
It is with sadness to inform you all that Dr Nicholas Peat has left the practice due to personal circumstances. The practice was very saddened to see him leave, but we wish him and his family all the best, and hope that he may come back in the future.
For those that had him assigned as their usual GP, you will be informed who you shall be transferred under as soon as been decided by the partners. In the meantime, please bear with us in terms of appointments, we are making every effort to make sure the offer the best service we can.

How appointments work - PPG
Obviously, in these difficult times, it is not always easy to get an appointment straight away, and some queuing etc. is often required. This is due to various factors, including staff shortages and funding issues, as reported in the press and media. Sadly these problems are being experienced all across the NHS, not just at our surgery.
Non - NHS Work
Due to the high volume of work in General Practice, The Partners at The Cottons Medical Centre have decided to stop non – NHS work from September 2022. This will allow doctors and nurses to meet the high volume of clinical work which includes Face to Face consultations and deal with correspondence from secondary care, in a timely manner.
We are aware that this decision may cause a lot of inconvenience to you, hence we will be working closely with other providers to provide this service.
You can request a subject access request, which will be a full copy of your medical records. You can then give this to the provider, who will be completing this work for you.
Please find enclosed the request form for this.
You can contact the surgery if you would like any non-clinical work and we will be happy to signpost you to a provider.
Please do not hesitate to contact the practice about this, if you have any concerns and we will be happy to address them for you.
One Service Ending & A New Service Beginning
With regret as of w/c 17th October the Push Doctor Service shall no longer be in operation. This is out of the Practice's control and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
However, as of the 1st October the Enhanced Access appointments offered to our patients at Harborough Fields Surgery shall also be available at our surgery.
The surgery shall be open 18.30pm - 20.00pm every Wednesday evening and every Saturday morning 08.00am - 12.00pm for GP face to face appointments and Treatment Nurse Appointments.
Please speak with reception for more information.
Many thanks
